VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Participatory Coastal Zone Restoration and Sustainable Management in the Eastern Province of Post-Tsunami Sri Lanka Project Grant Agreement No. GEF ESP-5-LK 
Closing date  10 on or before 13th September 2012 by registered post. 
Participatory Coastal Zone Restoration and Sustainable Management in the Eastern Province of Post-Tsunami, Sri Lanka is a project implemented by the Coast Conservation & Coastal Resource Management Department, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development with the aim of restoration and sustainable management of tsunami affected coasial ecosystems in the Eastern Province. The project is funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF)/International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD).

Applications are hereby invited from suitably  candidates for the following post of the project. 

Title of Post of Field Coordinator 
Station:- Trincomalee
 (One Position) 

General Conditions:
I. Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka 
2. The post is temporary and appointment is on contract basis, initially for one (1) year period. The extension of contract period will be possible based on necessity of service and satisfactory performance. 
3. Should be of sound physical and mental health to work in any part of the Eastern Province. 
4. Should be prepared to work in the Eastern Province. 
5. Remuneration is determined in terms of the Management Circular No. 33 of 2007 issued by the Department of Management Services. 

Duties: 
• Overall management of the Project Implementation Office 
• Ensure efficient implementation of planned project activities in the district 
• Ensure smooth coordination with local level agencies and communities
• Provide inputs to PMU for preparation of progress & monitoring reports and other documents 

Required basic qualifications: 
Should prossess a Bachelor Degree from a recognized university and Minimum of five years of post qualification experience in Coastal Resource or Environment Management in a similar position.
