NORTH WESTERN (WAYAMBA) PROVINCIAL'S PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment to the Segment 'B' of the Class 11 of the Sri Lanka Technical Service and to the Training (Trainees) Grade of the said Technical Service Wayamba of (North stern) Provincial Public Service - Year 2012

Islandwide applications will be received from Sri Lanka (citizens) male/female with undermentioned qualifications for the recruitment to the following posts vacant in the Sri Lanka 'Technical Service: of the Wayamba (N/W) Public Service.

01. Title of Post:- Technical Officer of class II Segment 'B'

*Educational and Other Qualifications

(a) Basic Educational Qualifications

I. Should have passed G.C.E. (0/L) in six (06) subjects with credit passes for the Language or Literature, Mathematics, Science and for one other subject, in not More than two (02) sittings

and

II. Should have passed G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in three subjects (03) including Pure Mat hematies / Applied Mathematics ./ Combined Mathematics and Physics

and

02. Title of the Post :- Technical Service (Training Grade)
If, incase, there were no sufficient / adequate numbers of applicants /candidates, for the said class II 'B' of the technical Service mentioned herein above, recruitments will be made for the training grade.


A) Basic Educational Qualifications Required: I. Should have passed G.C.E. (0/Level) Examination in not more than two sittings, in six (06) subjects, together with credit passes for language or Literature, Mathematics, Science and for another subject
and II. Should have passed G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in three subjects in one and same sitting, in Pure Mathematics / Applied Mathematics) Combined Mathematics and Physics or

B)
I. Together with Basic Educational Qualifications mentioned in (a) above

II. Should have obtained the relevant certificate after the successful completion of one year fulltime Training Course of Draughtsman or National Certificate in Technology (3 year part-time training course), relevant to the field, in a Technical College, recognized by the Government

Priority will be given to those candidates (applicants) who have qualifications mentioned in the above 2(B) para when recruitments are made to the category of the grades of training (trainees).

Only the permanent residents who are perntanently residing within the North Western (Wayainba) Province, should apply for this post, who are having the qualifications of education given under 2(B).
Note : Those who would be qualified and eligible for a training (trainee) grade of the said Technical Service, through the Open Competitive Examination, i.e.
(a) Applicants (candidates) who are having qualifications given under paragraph 2(a) above, will be placed on the initial step of the salary scale of the Category (Segment) (B) of the Class II of the Sri Lanka 'technical Service of the Wayamba (N/W) Public Service Commission, after successful completion of the relevant examination ('Test) of the two year theory and practical training obtained as per (according to) the syllabus of the relevant subject
(b) Persons who are having qualifications mentioned in the para 2(b) would be placed in the initial salary step of the segment 'B' class II of the Technical Services after successful completion of one year theory and practical training obtained as per (according to) the relevant subjects (syllabus).
(c) In case there were any applicants (candidates) who would fail to pass the examination conducted at the end of the training period, as per the A and B above, they would have the opportunity to get their training period extended for a period of not more that/ 06 months (six). Those who fail to get through examination held at the end of the period of service thus extended the service of the said trainees (Novices) will be suspended
